Sources said Ahmad was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) sleuths when he came to Lucknow for some purpose. STF also recovered fake Indian currency to the face value of Rs. 12,000 and some Nepalese currency from his possession, said sources.

“Ahmad has been involved in anti-national activities at the behest of the ISI and its links in the country since he escaped from police custody in 2011,” said a source.

The STF officials denied divulging any details about the arrest till late night. However, the sleuths of National Investigation Agency and state intelligence were questioning the accused over different aspects till last reports came in.
