A resident of Gomti Nagar, Anuradha along with her husband Anupam Raizada and sons Anjor, 19, and Atharv, 11, had left Lucknow on June 13 for a pilgrimage in the hill state. Staying at a hotel at Rambada, the family was asked to evacuate their hotel room at night due to a flood alert.

Raizada and his elder son were severely injured when they were hit by rocks and were separated from Anuradha and the younger son. They were last seen on June 16. The kid was later reported to have suffered serious spinal injury in the aftermath. Anuradha, who suffered with multiple fractures, was rescued after she went to fetch water for her son and lost her way back. The boy, injured and alone, is still wandering in the mountains. The last news of him was received on June 18.
