UP budget: Rs 250 cr for mass marriage of girls from BPL families

The Yogi Adityanath government has proposed an allocation of Rs 250 crore for the ‘Mukhya Mantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana’ for the marriage of girls belonging to poor families from all sections below the poverty line.

The Yogi Adityanath government has proposed an allocation of Rs 250 crore for the ‘Mukhya Mantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana’ for the marriage of girls belonging to poor families from all sections below the poverty line.

Further, an amount of Rs 122 crore has been proposed for the marriage of girls from poor families of scheduled castes and Rs 82 crore for general category in cases where the girls don’t tie the knot in mass marriage ceremonies.

An amount of Rs 1,705 crore has been proposed for the welfare of backward classes.

Rs 200 crore will be given for the marriage of daughters belonging to backward class while Rs 551 crore has been earmarked under the fee reimbursement scheme for students belonging to backward classes.

A sum of Rs 500 crore has been proposed under the national family benefit schemes and a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made for self-employment schemes implemented by the UP Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation.

Industrial training institutes run for the youth belonging to the SC category got Rs 66 crore.
