UP: Three days to deadline, many madarsas yet to submit details

The board has directed the madarsas across Uttar Pradesh to submit the details of classrooms, number of teachers, their Aadhaar card numbers, account details and others details on its official website.

Over 8,000 madarsas spread across Uttar Pradesh may lose recognition if they fail to submit the details to the UP Board of Madarsa by September 15.

With only three days to the deadline, the board has started updating the lists of madarsas that have already submitted the details.

“Others are expected to submit details in next three days, which is compulsory,” a senior official with the board said.

The board has directed the madarsas across the state to submit the details of classrooms, number of teachers, their Aadhaar card numbers, account details and others details on its official website.

The move, officials claimed, was part of state government’s agenda to upgrade UP madarsas. “The intention is to bring all the madarsas on one platform and ensure transparency in their functioning,” said Rahul Gupta, registrar, UP Board of Madarsa Education.

Gupta said the initiative will help teachers associated with madarsas who often complain of harassment and salary discrepancies.

In the later phases, the registrar said, the regulation of salaries of teachers, the allocation of aid and the examination procedure—all would be taken care off.
