Upset over insult of mom, 12-yr-old boy shoots priest dead

Upset with his mother’s insult, a 12-year-old boy shot a temple priest dead with the licensed gun of his father in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning. The deceased had allegedly manhandled and insulted the boy’s mother when he had come to purchase some goods from their grocery shop. HT reports.

Upset with his mother’s insult, a 12-year-old boy shot a temple priest dead with the licensed gun of his father in Krishna Nagar on Sunday morning. The deceased had allegedly manhandled and insulted the boy’s mother when he had come to purchase some goods from their grocery shop.

The boy is a Class 7 student of New Public School in Manaknagar. His parents run a grocery outside their house in Bhola Kheda locality of Krishna Nagar. The deceased, Kamal Kishore Tiwari, 27, was a priest at the local temple.

The incident took place when the priest went to purchase essence sticks when the boy was opening the shop at around 6.45am. The priest entered into a spat with him over payment issue and later scuffled with his mother when she intervened to rescue her son. The priest allegedly even manhandled the woman and insulted her.

Irked over his mother’s insult, the boy opened fire with the licenced gun of his father. Tiwari suffered gunshot wounds on his chest and the police rushed him to KGMU’s trauma centre after getting information about the incident. He later succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The boy’s father had gone for a morning walk when the incident occurred.
