Cafés and restaurants in Delhi-NCR are organising special Christmas parties for the pooches and pet parents.

What’s Christmas without your pooches, right? Cafés in Delhi-NCR are doing it all to make this Christmas unforgettable not just for you but for your pets, too. Have a rollicking time at the Fur Ball Story, Sector -54, Gurgaon, with live music performances by artists and separate menu for the pets, with dishes such as Simply Barkalicious, Make Me Kissable, among others. “Everyone likes to enjoy and party on Christmas, but for the pet parents, it becomes difficult as they have to either leave their dogs at home, or don’t go to parties in the first place. Hence, we wanted to have something for pet parents where they can come and enjoy with their pets. People can meet trainee therapy dogs, and cuddle them, too,” says, Rahul Madan, co-founder.

Take your pick from cookies and Christmas tree-shaped muffins at Puppychino Café, Shahpur Jat, to pancakes and treats such as Belgium dog beer at Critterati. “We are planning a party for the pooches, wherein the parents will accompany them. The pooches will be wearing Santa dresses, and there will be a play station and buffet for pets as well as the parents. There’s also free food and free anti-rabies vaccination for strays, at a 50 per cent discount on treatment,” says Deepak Chawla from Critterati, Gurgaon. And not just that, anybody adopting a stray will be given a gift voucher from the hotel. There will also be free coats and food for stray dogs.

If you wish to make this day special for the voiceless, adopt a pet at the special drive that will take place as part of the pet-friendly Christmas Affair Festival at Akshara Theatre, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, on December 23, from 12 noon to 9pm. The drive, in collaboration with Paws for a Cause, will have Indie pups, and mixed breeds, up for adoption.

Those who want to ensure their pets get to eat their favourite food, head to Throttle Shrottle, Gurgaon-Faridabad road, which is organising a snowfall party this Christmas, where pets will get to relish a customised meal. Saurav Priyadarshi, owner of the eatery, says, “Machines will be installed to give a snowfall effect. We don’t want to serve pets something that can upset their stomach. The food will be customised. Pet parents also get to do a photo shoot with their pooches.”

To know how well you know your pets, take the quiz at Off The Leash, Sector-59, Gurgaon, and win prizes even as you discover more about your furballs. “There will be a customised cake for pets — made of oats, chicken, apple and banana and a special menu for the pet parents, too,” says Eshita Katyal, founder of the dog café.
