A 12-year-old boy mentally challenged boy fell to his death from the 10th floor of KEM hospital in Parel on Saturday morning. The Bhoiwada police do not suspect any foul play and said that it’s a clear case of accidental death.
According to the police, the incident took place on the 10th floor of new building. The deceased, Sohail Siddiqui, had come there with his mother to visit a relative kept in ward number 42. They decided to stay back as they had got late. They are residents of Ambujwadi, Malwani in Malad west.
At around 5 am, the boy went near the stairs and accidentally tripped and fell down. The police said that he may have experienced fits. The boy can be seen moving towards the stairs on the CCTV camera , the police said.
Soon after a security guard saw him, he was rushed for treatment. He suffered grievous injuries on his legs and died in the evening. The police said it is an unfortunate incident and no one can be held negligent.
