WHEN?

Monday, May 29: Information booklets for online admissions will be distributed

Wednesday, June 2: Start registering on web portal

Once SSC results are announced, there will be four rounds of admissions — once every week between June 15 and July 15

July 16: Colleges will begin classes

September 1: If seats remain vacant, three additional rounds of admission will be held once every two weeks, up to September 1

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

Collect the information booklet from your school; it costs Rs150

Use the login ID and password in the booklet to log on to the admissions portal: http://mumbai.11thadmission.net

HOW TO FILL YOUR APPLICATION FORM

It is compulsory for every student to fill and submit Part 1 and Part 2 of the admission form

Part 1 is the registration form. It needs personal details, such as home address, contact number, school, name of the school board and information about whether student is applying for reserved seats or in the open category. This form can be filled from May 31 onwards

KNOW YOUR RULES: New procedures this year

Mention clearly if you are applying in the reserved or general category

Apply only to one stream

List a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10 college preferences — you can change the order of preferences or the stream according to availability of seats in the stipulated time allotted for each round

Got your first preference of college? Confirm admission and pay the full fees within the time limit. The system will block names of students who have got the first preference to ensure they can’t access the remaining rounds of admissions

Got a seat that is not your first preference, but interested in taking admission? Pay the full fees and confirm your seat

Didn’t get your preferred college? Take part in the next rounds. This year, however, there is no guarantee you will get a better seat than the one first allotted to you

If you confirm admission under a quota and pay the full admission fee, your name will be blocked to stop you from applying in the general category

Student’s applying for admission under quotas —religious or linguistic minorities, in-house and management —fill the online applications, both part 1 and 2

Choose admission type as quota and select the reservation you are eligible for

OTHER THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

Select colleges carefully, list them in the order of preference

If you don’t list your colleges in the order of preference, it will become compulsory for you to take admission in the college allotted by the computerised system on merit basis

Fill application forms through your schools, and not from cyber cafes or private classes. The applications will be submitted through school heads.
