“The off-shore trough (low pressure) from south Gujarat to Kerala coast, which was bringing rain over the Konkan coast, has moved away but a low pressure area has formed over the north-east Arabian Sea, which is south of Gujarat,” KS Hosalikar, deputy director general, western region, India Meteorological Department (IMD).

He added, “This weather system is pushing a lot of moisture over the west coast and this will lead to enhanced monsoon activity for the west coast, including Mumbai, north-west India and the central peninsular. All these areas can expect very good rainfall over the next 10 days.
