Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer continued to grill her driver Shyamwar Rai on Tuesday

Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer continued to grill her driver Shyamwar Rai on Tuesday, who has turned an approver, in the Sheena Bora murder case.

Sheena Bora (left) was allegedly murdered by her mother Indrani Mukerjea with the help of her driver and ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna.

According to the prosecution, Sheena Bora was allegedly kidnapped and killed by her mother Indrani, the main accused, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Rai on April 24 in 2012. Her body was allegedly burnt in Pen tehsil of Raigad district the following day.

Rai was questioned by the lawyer if he remembered in which position Sheena’s body was kept in the bag; how many times Indrani got down from the car; the distance between various locations covered on the day of the murder and the following day. Rai said he did not exactly remember the details.

He was also asked if Sheena’s body kept in the car smelt. Rai replied that he could only smell Indrani’s perfume. He is being cross-examined by Indrani’s lawyer.

With every deposition, Rai has maintain that he was part of the conspiracy and followed ‘madam’ Indrani’s instructions.

Indrani’s lawyer has been confronting Rai on the call data records (CDR) recently provided by the telecommunications companies. He was cross-examined on the call records of two specific days — April 24 and April 25, 2012.
