In pics: Mumbai motorists stuck on Ghodbunder Road as fire brigade contains gas leak

Mumbai city news: Vehicles going towards Vasai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Borivali and Mumbai are stuck on the roads and are expected to be stranded till late night.

Hundreds of motorists were stuck as LPG gas tanker overturned along Mumbai’s Ghodbunder Road, leading to gas leakage.

Some complained of being stranded for almost four hours.

Rescue efforts led to a jam along Ghodbunder Road and traffic diversions from Mumbai and Bhiwandi

Most had a harrowing time.

The Thane rural police asked commuters to avoid taking the road.

The traffic situation is set to worsen, said officials.

Vehicles were stopped more than 200ft ahead of the accident spot on either site to avoid a major disaster.
