A school student fell off a crowded local train near Vitthalwadi railway station on Monday and lost his leg.

The victim, identified as Bhuvaneshwar Ashok Dubey,18, is a resident of Bhivpuri road in Karjat, is preparing for his SSC exams. Dubey said he was pushed by two commuters and that he can identify the two if shown CCTV footage.

On Monday afternoon, Dubey had gone to Kalyan to meet his friends for Diwali. While on his way back, he boarded a crowded train and lost his grip in between Vitthalwadi railway station and Kalyan and fell off the running local train.

Initially, he had injured his leg but as he tried to stand up, he slipped again. A second train ran over his leg after this.

Bhuvaneshwar said, “I had sustained injuries a few days ago when I fell down from my bicycle. On the train, I saw two people pushing each other for fun. I asked them not to come near me as I was already injured and that I cannot stand properly. Both the commuters slapped and pushed me from the footboard. I can identify those two who pushed me outside the train.”.

He further added,” We will ask for CCTV footage from the platforms to trace the accused. It has hardly been ten days since I started working as a driver for Ola Cabs. If someone can help me, it will be very kind of them”.

A police constable from Kalyan GRP said,” We came to know about the accident a few minutes later and rushed to the spot with four porters. He was initially taken to Rukmini Bai hospital, but after examining him, he was shifted to Sion Hospital for treatment, where he is at the moment “.
