Kebabs, rajma, Thai chicken curry: New Spicejet menu

After Subs and Starbucks coffee, another new food spread is set to make its way onto domestic flights in India.

SpiceJet, an airline company, on Tuesday announced a change in its in-flight menu. The airline statement said the new menu will have a mix of kebabs and Rajma rice. The hot-meal section for fliers who book their meals ahead of their journey will also have Red Thai Chicken curry with rice and Chicken Strongnoff with Yellow rice.

“We have retained biryani and kathi rolls on the menu because of positive feedback from the passengers,” said the airline spokesperson.

Jet Airways and Vistara have recently introduced similar changes in their menu.

In June, Jet Airways began serving Subway sandwiches and Krispy Kreme doughnuts on its domestic flights.

The new menu introduced on flights with travel time of less than 90 minutes includes four kinds of vegetarian and non-vegetarian subs and glazed doughnuts.

The airline could make more changes in the on-board menu, Jet’s senior vice-president (guest experience) Sonu Kriplani told HT.

About a month later, Vistara, a joint venture of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, said it will serve Starbucks coffee to its business class and premium economy class passengers across its 17-route national network.
