Pharmacy degree results out in Mumbai, students can now apply for post-graduate courses

Mumbai city news: The results were declared just in time for the counselling session for admission to MPharm, MS Pharmacy and MTech Pharmacy courses at NIPERs.

The University of Mumbai (MU) on Monday released the degree course results of students seeking post-graduate studies in the National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs).

The results were declared just in time for the counselling session for admission to MPharm, MS Pharmacy and MTech Pharmacy courses at NIPERs, that began on Monday. So far, the university had released the results of just five MBA Pharmacy aspirants, who did their course counselling between July 10 and 12.

“There was some confusion in the morning regarding our results. So, one of us contacted the MU vice-chancellor. And now it seems that all the results have been sent,” said an aspirant. “We are happy that the results have arrived,” added Raghuram Rao, director, NIPER Mohali, which is conducting the admission process.

This year, MU adopted an on-screen marking process for the assessment of answersheets, in place of the traditional pen-and-paper evaluation. The decision caused a huge delay in the results, as MU couldn’t appoint an agency for a long time and the technical glitches continue to plague the system. Pharma students, who were interested in doing post-graduate studies, were worried that the delay in the assessments of their degree examination could spoil their plans.

According to Rao, MU was the only varsity that couldn’t declare the results before counselling. Students from more than 200 universities took the entrance test this year. If a university fails to declare results on time, NIPERs seek access to the results of the pharma aspirants directly from the varsity.
