Two children aged 8 months and 9 years drowned after a 72-inch water pipeline burst in Indira Nagar near Bandra Terminus (East) on Friday around 10.30am.

According to officials, the pipeline burst all of a sudden and washed away the hut in the vicinity. The two children, who were inside at the time of the incident, drowned.
Disaster control officials said the 8-month-old, Vignesh Doiphode, was rushed to Bhabha hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
His sister, Priyanka Dohiphode, 9, was taken to VN Desai hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
Officials said they checking the cause of the pipe burst.
Officials from the disaster management cell said the situation is now under control.
