Two held for molesting 29-year-old doctor in Mumbra

A third man, who kept watch while the incident was ongoing, is currently missing

Two men were held for molesting a 29-year-old doctor from Mumbra in Diva on Thursday around 7.30pm. A third man, who kept watch while the incident was ongoing, is currently missing.

The two accused of molestation — Vishal Nimbalkar,19, and Kiran Dalvi, 20, who works as ward-boy at a private hospital — were produced in court. They have been remanded in magistrate custody.

The third accused, Akash Nadkar, 21, does odd jobs in Thane.

The doctor was alone at her clinic, when Vishal who entered and claimed that his stomach was hurting as he had eaten outside food. “Vishal touched the doctor inappropriately, so she reacted by pushing him outside her cabin. Kiran was standing there and tried to hug and touch her inappropriately”, said an officer of the Mumbra police station.

Akash stood guard at the clinic door so he could alert his friends if any patients showed up, said the police. Akash had also partially pulled down the clinic’s shutters.

“During the investigation, we also found that after the woman reacted to Vishal touching her inappropriately, he slapped her hard to keep her quiet. We will arrest the third accused soon. Vishal and Kiran were subjected to a medical examination. Vishal was found to be suffering from allergies,” said S Bendre, investigation officer from Mumbra police station.
