A Class 6 student of the Holy Family Convent School in Ulhasnagar was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her house at Silverline Co-op Housing Society on Monday afternoon.

The mother of 11-year-old Sohilee alias Daisy said her daughter had gone to school as usual in the morning, attended her classes and returned home at 1.15pm.
She said her daughter could not handle exam-related pressure. “I met Sohilee while she was returning from school. I told her I was going to meet her teachers. I asked her to go home, have lunch and study,” she said.
When her mother returned, she found the door locked from inside. When the door was opened, she found her daughter hanging from the ceiling fan. DF Patil, assistant police inspector of Vithalwadi police station, said, “We will question Sohilee’s teachers, friends, neighbours and family to ascertain the cause.”
Sister Blossom, principal, rubbished Sohilee’s mother’s charges and said, “There’s no question of exam-pressure because students don’t have to sit for written exams till Class 8.”
