14-year-old boy commits suicide in charkop

A 14-year-old student of Class 8 hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his Charkop residence on Monday. The boy, Prathamesh Kadam, a student of Priyadarshini High School located in Sector 7 of Charkop, lived with his father and his mother stayed in the village, said the police.

The boy, Prathamesh Kadam, a student of Priyadarshini High School located in Sector 7 of Charkop, lived with his father and his mother stayed in the village, said the police.

The boy committed suicide while his father, Vijay Kadam, a bank employee was at work and he was alone at home.

His father first spotted his body and informed the police who have registered a case of accidental death. “The boy was not good in his studies and had not gone to school since the last three days. He was suppose to resume school from Tuesday," said a police official.

"No suicide note has been found," said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Malvani Division, Musa Sheikh.

The body was taken to Bhagwati Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
