Sakshi Khanna, son of actor Vinod Khanna, who was detained along with 306 persons from a rave party held in Khalapur in Raigad in June this year, has tested positive for intake of cannabis-related drugs, said sources from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) at Kalina where blood and urine samples of the revellers were sent for testing.
Earlier blood sample of police inspector Anil Jadhav of the Anti Narcotics Cell, who was found along with revellers at the Khalapur resort when the police raided it on June 26, had also tested positive for drug consumption.
“Of the blood and urine samples of 306 persons sent to us, we have tested 200 samples of which around 90% — 180 samples — have tested positive for cannabis-related drugs such as charas and ganja,” said an official from forensic lab.
He added, “Of the 180 persons who have tested positive, 12 were tested positive for MDMA (ecstasy) as well.” The official confirmed that Sakshi had tested positive for cannabis-related substance.
The forensic laboratory has already dispatched 168 samples that were tested positive to the Raigad police. The remaining 12 samples — that includes the sample of Sakshi — is being sent to the Raigad police. According to the official, the remaining of the 306 samples will be sent to Raigad police in the coming weeks.

{{/usCountry}}On the next course of action, advocate Kiran Makasare said, “Once a person has tested positive for drug consumption, it then boils down that the drug was for personal consumption, following which the person can be imprisoned for six months or let off with a warning.” He added, “However, if it is established that the drug was for any purpose other than personal consumption, the person would be imprisoned for a minimum of 10 years.”
