More than 2,000 students along with parents attended the Hindustan Times Campus Calling counselling sessions held at Vishnudas Bhave Natyagruha in Vashi and BN Vaidya Hall in Dadar on Friday.
At the three-hour sessions, the counsellors from YoungBuzz elaborated on the different courses, educational institutes and career options in arts, science and commerce streams after Class 10.
The counsellors also informed the students about offbeat careers.
The session at Vashi had ‘Ask The Counsellor’ segment, wherein students got the counsellors to solve their doubts individually. The students’ questions to the counsellors ranged from the subjects required to pursue a vocation to career opportunities after completion of a certain course.
“This year, students have also been asking questions about studying abroad such as the country or university they should apply to,” said Tasneem Ahmed, a YoungBuzz counsellor.
“The Campus Calling session has motivated me to either get into medicine or become a pilot,” said Vaishali Aggarwal, 14, a Class 10 student from Apeejay School in Nerul, adding that she liked the list of colleges that the counsellor gave for each course or stream.
Though the session was divided into three parts — one each for arts, commerce and science stream — many students and their parents chose to sit through all the three segments. “As my son Aarav will soon be choosing his vocation, we wanted to know about all the options available to him,” said Anita Gandhi from Matunga whose son has taken the Class 10 exams.

{{/usCountry}}The counselling sessions have been taking place on the weekends in May and the last two will be held on Saturday at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, and Gadkari Rangayatan, Thane, from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
Registration closes 15 minutes before the start of the session.
