According to the cyber police, the employer, a businessman from the Fort area, had a security and lifestyle outlet in Kandivli in 2008. Memon, an expert in CCTV installation, used to work at a shop nearby. “So Sethi, whose job profile included taking orders for CCTV cameras, got in touch with Memon,” said an officer from the cyber police.

Over time, Sethi and Memon got to know each other and the former started trusting Memon, police said. “In January 2009, Memon brought his friend Shahnawaz to Sethi and requested that he be employed. Shahnawaz started working there as a technician and was given all inside information required for his job. Once he understood the system, Shahnawaz quit in January 2010,” the officer said.
