MUMBAI: Two youngsters in Jogeshwari ( West) were arrested for raping a 15-year-old girl. The police said one of the accused was in love with the girl. Both the accused have been booked for rape under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
According to the Oshiwara police, the 15-year-old girl was in a relationship with the 22-year-old accused. Both of them live in the same neighbourhood in a chawl at Jogeshwari (West). The accused asked the girl to come to his 23-year-old friend’s house on Sunday around 8 pm. All three live in the same chawl.
“He asked the girl to have sex with the other accused. The girl was confined to that room and both the accused raped the victim one after the other,” said an investigating officer from the Oshiwara police station.
The girl’s father approached the Oshiwara police station to register a missing complaint. The police swung into action and traced the girl. The two accused were arrested on Monday after noon after an FIR was registered based on the statements of the girl and her father.
The duo will be produced before a sessions court on Tuesday. The girl has undergone a medical test. Her report is awaited.
