Two persons were arrested on Friday by the Murbad police for shooting a class 10 student outside his board examination centre in Murbad city on Thursday.

On Thursday Ganesh Banarasidas Jaiswal, 19, a resident of Murbad, was attacked and shot by three assailants in full public view as he left the examination centre.
The two accused were identified as Bandu Chandane and Sainath Shirke. Ravi Chandane, the third accused, is still absconding. “We will arrest him soon,” said superintendent of police at the Murbad police station, Vishwas Nangre-Patil.
The three accused are local goons. Jaiswal, who was earlier a part of the group, had an altercation with them a few months ago, following which the group split ways. Jaiswal’s brother, Kamlesh had told the police on Thursday that the group had threatened to kill them after the fall-out.
