The police arrested 16 Shiv Sainiks and charged them with rioting after they attacked theatres and tore down posters of Shah Rukh Khan’s forthcoming film My Name is Khan on Saturday.

Additional Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta said at 10.30 am, eight Sainiks, led by Raju Hatim, tore a poster of the film at Big Bazaar mall in Samtanagar.
"We have registered a case of rioting and destroying property at the Samtanagar police station," Gupta said.
The Amboli police station made eight more arrests in the evening when Sainiks tried to attack Adlabs theatre at Andheri.
Gupta said preventive measures are being taken to ensure that no such violence takes place
Meanwhile, actress-activist Kunika Lall on Saturday lodged a complaint against Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray and Sena MP Sanjay Raut at the with the Oshiwara police station. She alleged that by giving provoking statements against actor Shah Rukh Khan, Thackeray and Raut are trying to create communal divide.
