The much-awaited online Adhaar enrolment centres are expected to start by month-end in the city. The online centres will enable applicants to submit Unique Identification (UID) forms online.

The website (www.mahaonline.gov.in) was launched by the state and Tata Consultancy Services recently to enable online UID registration.

“We have identified suitable locations and will start five centres by October-end. Each centre will have three-four machines dedicated for online registration,” said Rajesh Aggarwal, secretary, IT, and director of Mahaonline. After submitting the form, the applicant will receive a confirmation email and an sms with date, time, address of the centre, contact person’s name and number and a temporary registration number.

The applicant will need to visit the respective centre with identity and residential proof. Using the temporary registration number, applicant’s form will be downloaded, and he will have to give fingerprint and iris scan.

“The applicant will need to visit the designated spot on the given date and time with documents. They will no longer be required to stand in long queues,” said Satnam Sethi, CEO of Mahaonline.
