A seven-year-old boy drowned in the swimming pool of a private club in Goregaon (West) on Sunday. The Class 3 student, Aryan Parab, had gone to Ozone club for his regular swimming lessons on Sunday between 6 and 7 pm.

“The boy did not know swimming. Before anybody could notice, he slipped into the deep end of the pool and was seen only when he began to drown,” said Arun Jadhav, senior inspector of Goregaon police station.
Aryan, who lived with his parents at Motilal Nagar, had enrolled for a swimming class for the past month at the club, said the police. The club is a sister concern of Prabodhan, a non-profit making charitable organisation located in the Siddhartha Nagar area of Goregaon (W).
The Goregaon police have registered a case of death due to negligence (Section 304 of the IPC) against the trainers who were present near the pool at the time of the incident.
