An assistant conservator of forests, posted at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 to allot flats under a government slum rehabilitation scheme. ACB sources said Anil Ghevari was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount from the complainant at the former's office.

The complainant said that while he had been allotted a flat under the scheme, his brother and his parents who also had hutments in the area were not allotted flats.
When the complainant approached Ghevari with the problem, he allegedly demanded Rs. 1.5 lakh for clearing the necessary papers for the flats.
The complainant allegedly paid Rs 90,000. However, the papers were not cleared as an additional Rs 60,000 had not been paid to Ghevari who kept demanding the amount.
The complainant finally approached the ACB, who lodged an FIR.
