The CBI had on Wednesday filed a 10,000-page charge sheet in the controversial Adarsh scam against 13 accused including former chief minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan. Sources revealed that the charge sheet includes 150 original documents and statements of 160 witnesses. The scrutiny is nearing completion, sources said.
Only after the checking and verification, the charge sheet would be sent to the court, that would then issue summons to all the 13 accused including Chavan.

BJP irked with probe chief’s transfer

Mumbai: The state BJP has requested the Centre to cancel the order transferring CBI joint director Rishi Raj Singh, who handled the Adarsh probe.
Singh, who was joint director, (western zone), since 2007 was transferred to the CBI’s economic offences wing in Mumbai on Thursday, a day after he filed the charge sheet. This could be viewed as an attempt to prevent CBI from naming more politicians, said Vinod Tawde, leader of the opposition in legislative council, in a letter to PM Manmohan Singh and home minister P Chidambaram. Mumbai: In a minor reshuffle of bureaucrats, four officers were shifted on Friday. Ashish Sharma, municipal commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad, has been made managing director of state power company Mahagenco. He replaced Subrat Ratho, transferred as principal secretary of general administration department in Mantralaya. Government also appointed NK Sudhanshu as CEO of Mhada in Mumbai.
