After travelling for more than 30 minutes a Kingfisher Airlines flight carrying 117 passengers to Bhubaneswar returned to Mumbai on Wednesday because the pilot suspected a technical problem in the aircraft mid-air. The incident delayed the flight by more than three hours.

At 2.31 pm the flight’s commander contacted the Mumbai air traffic control tower
seeking permission to land on priority. The flight landed safely at the city airport at 3.13pm under full emergency conditions.
According to the routine procedure fire tenders, ambulances and airport safety staff are stationed at the tarmac when a flight is about to make an emergency landing.
A Kingfisher Airlines spokesperson, confirmed the incident.
“Passengers were shifted to another aircraft that left Mumbai around 4.30 pm. Our engineers are examining the technical snag,” said the spokesperson.
