A 32-year-old photographer committed suicide at his Chembur residence on Monday afternoon, hours after he gave hints about his plan through a series of posts on a social networking site.

The victim, Prakash Patni, had put up several posts on his Facebook profile. He wrote: “2 day is my last day….i love u [sic]”, “my frnds I m not more [sic]” and “by love u tc……all…[sic].”
Patni allegedly hanged himself from the hook of the ceiling fan at his ground-floor house in Chembur Camp.
Police are investigating whether a family feud drove him to suicide. Other posts, written just hours before his death, hint at a relationship gone sour. “Love is a sweet poison…& slow poison…[sic], “plz do not love shouting line girls...they can frod any 1...[sic],” read some of his recent posts.
The RCF police stated that Patni’s wife and son were away when he committed suicide. They returned around 1.30pm to find Patni hanging from the hook.
“Patni used to buy lottery tickets and was debt-ridden. We are still investigating the matter,” said Dilip Yadav, senior police inspector, RCF police station. Police have registered a suicide case.
