To speed up the complaints redressal system and bring in transparency in the administration, the state cooperative department will launch a website next month that will have detailed information about the functioning of cooperative societies.

To speed up the complaints redressal system and bring in transparency in the administration, the state cooperative department will launch a website next month that will have detailed information about the functioning of cooperative societies.

“We are aiming to make the site interactive so that people visiting the registrar office for complaints pertaining to cooperative housing societies and banks can register their complaints and check the status online,” said Madhukar Chaudhari, state cooperation commissioner.

The online system will also provide a common platform to registrars, deputy registrars, and other officers to access information and the status of functioning bridging the communication gap between officers and people, and resolving the issues soon, added Chaudhari.

The site will give people access to audit reports, financial reports of cooperative banks, and other functions of cooperatives. To lodge a complaint about anything regarding a housing society, people will only have to go to the grievances column, select their society and lodge the complaint.

“If deputy registrars don’t listen to our problems in person, they will not even consider it online. The department always complains of staff crunch, and for implementing the new system effectively, they need more people,” said JB Patel, a housing right activist.
