Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray is likely to undergo an endoscopy sometime over the next two days, to identify what may be a problem with the pancreas. The procedure is likely to extend his stay at the Lilavati Hospital by three days.

A source from the Shiv Sena said Dr D Nageshwar Reddy of Asian Institute of Gastroentero-logy, Hyderabad, has been requested to conduct the endoscopy. “Doctors suspect some trouble with Balasaheb’s pancreas,” the source said.
The official word from the party was that Thackeray was recovering well. “His health is much better than what it was when he was admitted,” a Sena functionary said.
