Bhatsa dam close to overflow mark

Bhatsa lake, the largest of the six lakes that supplies water to the city, came dangerously close to the overflow level on Sunday night before the gates of its dam were opened to release its water.

Bhatsa lake, the largest of the six lakes that supplies water to the city, came dangerously close to the overflow level on Sunday night before the gates of its dam were opened to release its water.

The water level of Bhatsa reached 141.20 metres while the overflow level is set at 142.07 metres.

The state government, does not let the lake fill completely as it may destabilise the dam and may submerge nearby villages
