Police said the prime suspect is the building watchman, Ram Singh, who is absconding since the robbery was discovered on Monday, and have registered a case of burglary against him.

The complainant, Gaurav Ahuja, 28, said he suspects Singh committed the burglary on instructions from the building's society committee members seeking to pressure Ahuja's family as they were against the society's redevelopment plan.

Senior inspector Madhukar Chaudhari, Santacruz police station denied the accusations. Police are trying to track the watchman down.
