“A definitive plan of action needs to be set for implementation of the new policy. The antennas or towers that do not adhere to new norms must be a given time for rectification or regularisation. If not, they must be relocated,” said Jitendra Gupta, antiradiation activist.

“What is the use of the policy if it is not enforced on existing towers? The finalisation of the policy was delayed and towers have been installed in the city by operators that are necessary for network coverage,” Gupta said.

Rajiv Kuknoor, chief engineer of the civic development plan department, who has sent the revised policy for approval to the civic commissioner, was unavailable for comment.
