In 2009, Bandra resident Ashraf Mansuri filed a petition alleging illegal construction in the area. He alleged that Anees and Imran Khan, sons of Yakub Yeda, wanted in 1993 serial blasts in the city, are developing at least 40 properties in the Navpada area. He has named M.K. Builders in his petition.

On Wednesday, BMC’s lawyer told the court that it has issued notices to those involved in constructing the illegal structures. The demolish will be carried out from April 12 to May 3, said an affidavit by the BMC.

The BMC has written to the Nirmal Nagar police station, seeking police protection while carrying out the demolition.

However, the affidavit did not list the details of the illegal constructions and structures.
