The body of a 54-year-old unidentified man was found at the Madh beach in Malad (west) on Sunday.
“There were no clothes on the victim. The body had been washed ashore,” said Shashikant Surve, police inspector of the Malvani police station.

“There were no injuries on the victim. It appears to be a case of drowning. We have sent a wireless message to all the police stations. We are circulating his photographs in the nearby villages and the police stations. So far, nobody has come forward to claim the body,” added Surve.
The body had been sent to the Bhagwati hospital for post mortem. The police have registered a case of accidental death.
