The Borivli police suspect an insider in the murder case of 50-year-old Vijay Vora, who was found dead inside his Borivli (West) flat on Wednesday. Vora was found murdered in his house at Adeshwar building on Tuesday. An idol of Mahavir made of alloy worth Rs15, 000 was found missing from the flat.
According to the police, the accused did not use any weapon in the robbery indicating the involvement of a known person. Police had found strangulation marks on
Vora’s neck and it looked like his head was banged against the wall.
Police are trying to find out Vora’s financial background and investments to find out if there was some money-related dispute.
Vora lived with his wife Pallavi, 48 who had left home at around 9am for Crawford Market when the incident took place. Pallavi found Vora’s body in a pool of blood in the passageway between the hall and prayer room around 9.30pm when she returned.
Pallavi told the cops that she was not aware of her husband’s investments. Four police teams have been formed to investigate the case. “We have picked up Vora’s previous watchman on suspicion but nothing has been found against him yet,” said an officer from the Borivli police station. The police have released the sketches of the three alleged suspects who had entered the society, saying they had come to visit the house opposite Vora’s. HTC
