Borude's family seeks inquiry into his death, will move HC

The plea will also include an inquiry into the rape allegation made against Borude by a minor girl, which resulted in his implication and subsequent dismissal from the force.

"There is something more than what meets the eye," Chomal told Hindustan Times on Monday while disputing police claims that Borude committed suicide by throwing himself before a running train. "They (police) want to bury the truth. Prima facie, the injuries suffered by Borude did not correspond to an accident injury," Chomal said adding that he will finalise the date for the writ in consultation with Borude's younger brother Prakash, who will be coming to Mumbai in a couple of days.

Chomal claimed Borude's death was as mysterious as his implication in the rape. "The girl had specifically told the police that she had been raped four times and that too the perpetrators on all the occasions happened to be young men. However, despite the fact that no specific allegation had been made against Borude, he was victimized," he claimed. It may be recalled that Chomal had earlier demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident.
