Brother Anand Bhosle’s statement to be recorded

While Asha Bhosle, who was attending a function in Singapore, returned on Monday night, the day after her daughter was found dead, Anand had not.

The police said that Anand was in Singapore accompanying his mother. After the incident, the police had summoned him to record his statement. Following this, he landed in Mumbai late on Thursday. A senior police officer said, “Anand has said that he will be available on Saturday to record his statement and will come to the police station to do so.”

On Monday morning, Varsha was found dead in a pool of blood on the sofa at her Peddar Road residence. The police said she had shot herself in the head with a 0.6mm pistol of Belgian make.

The police are also awaiting a forensic analysis report from the Forensic Sciences Laboratory located at Kalina. The report will throw light on how the gun remained in working condition even though it had been missing for so many years.
