In a case of road rage, three unidentified men allegedly assaulted two brothers with a chain at Kandivli (East) on Saturday evening.
The brothers, who are being treated at Bhagwati hospital, are out of danger.
At 6.30pm, Kaif Khan, 20, a college student, was driving his car on Jivlapada Road at Thakur village, when suddenly a speeding motorcyclist cut the lane and came in front of his car.
Kaif screamed at the biker, who got off his vehicle and a heated argument ensued on the middle of the road, said police sub-inspector V Nadadkar of the Samta Nagar police station.
Kaif called up his elder brother, Faraz, who was at his Charkop residence, while the biker, whose identity is unknown, called up two of his friends. While speaking on the phone, the biker called one of the friend ‘Bopi’, Kaif reportedly told the police.
Both Faraz and the motorcyclist’s friends, who allegedly came armed with a chain, arrived at the spot within 15 minutes.
“A fight broke out between the two groups and they attacked the brothers with the chain. The Khans sustained injuries on their hands and legs,” Nadadkar said. The police have no leads on the identity or location of the accused.
