After the Bombay High Court’s ban on sand mining brought all mega projects to a halt, the government has decided to bring up a policy on sand mining before the cabinet next week.

After the Bombay High Court’s ban on sand mining brought all mega projects to a halt, the government has decided to bring up a policy on sand mining before the cabinet next week.

Revenue minister Narayan Rane said, “The policy was discussed on Wednesday. It will be put before the cabinet next week and then submitted to the high court.’’ He said the policy would, however, need some amendments to existing laws.
