A case of burglary was registered at the Jogeshwari police station after an unidentified person(s) broke into the residence of businessman and stole cash and valuables collectively worth around Rs14.64 lakh.

The police said that on Sunday, Devji Gada, a resident of Saraswat Baug Colony in Jogeshwari (East) had gone with his family to Shahpur in Thane.
When the family returned, Gada noticed that the main door was unlatched. On going inside, he found that the lock on the cupboard was broken and cash and valuables were missing.
Gada approached the Jogeshwari police and lodged a complaint. The police said that the burglar(s) used a cutter to break the window grill and slide a hand inside to unlatch the door.
“There is no security guard or CCTV camera at the society where Gada resides. The area is secluded,” said Ravindra Bhosale, senior police inspector, Jogeshwari police station.
Gada had saved the cash and ornaments for his mentally and physically challenged son. A close relative of Gada said, “The money would have helped take care of his [the son’s] future.”
