The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) would take a fortnight to register a case in connection with the alleged irregularities in Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society at Colaba.

The CBI is going through the documents it received from the Mumbai Collector’s office on Tuesday. The CBI received more than 4,000 pages of documents pertaining to the land deal, title and possession.
The CBI also asked for documents from Adarsh and the Navy, but is yet to receive them.
“It would take 15 to 20 days to register a first information report,” said a senior CBI officer requesting anonymity since he is not authorised to speak to the media. The CBI would also probe how government and defence officers got funds to buy the flats. “If we find that the funds were disproportionate to the buyers’ sources of income, we would register a case against them too,” the officer said.
