Charges framed against IPS officer

The special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act court recently framed charges against Jammu & Kashmir cadre IPS officer Saji Mohan, arrested for possessing drugs case.

The special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act court recently framed charges against Jammu & Kashmir cadre IPS officer Saji Mohan, arrested for possessing drugs case.

“The court has framed charges against Mohan,” confirmed public prosecutor Vijaylakshmi Nadar. His lawyer K Balakrishnan said Mohan pleaded not guilty and will face trial. Mohan, who was earlier posted with the Narcotics Control Bureau’s zonal unit in Chandigarh, was arrested in 2009, allegedly with a consignment of 12.8kg of heroin in Oshiwara. Following interrogation, the ATS raided a flat in Naigaon and found another consignment of 25kg of narcotics.
