After the three main accused, who are still untraceable, allegedly abducted the victim from outside her Chembur residence in an autorickshaw and raped and abandoned her at Chunabhatti, she was sexually assaulted again by two more men.

Acting on a tip-off, the RCF police arrested the duo, Santosh Yadav, 20, a truck driver, and Ramzan Kamruddin Shaikh, 25, on Tuesday.

"The arrests of Yadav and Shaikh should help us track down the three accused," said an officer from the RCF police station requesting anonymity as he is not authorised to speak to the media.

The police had released sketches of three persons two days after a case of rape and kidnapping was registered against unidentified persons.

According to the police, the sketches were of the auto driver and his two accomplices.

Senior inspector of RCF police station S Shelke said, "The sketches did not help much, but these arrests will hopefully lead us to the other accused soon."
