Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan’s father-in-law Ramchandrarao Narsimharao Ghorpade, 86, passed away at Miraj in Sangli district on Sunday due to prolonged illness.

Ghorpade, 86, popularly known as Bapusaheb in the district, came from village Bedag near Sangli.

He is survived by a son and a daughter, Satvasheela, who is married to Chavan. Chavan and his wife left for Miraj from Pune where he was attending a function on Sunday. Ghorpade’s funeral was held on Sunday afternoon.
