City CIE schools could get governing body

Members of International Schools Association (MISA), an organisation that guides CIE schools with teacher training programmes and helps schools get a CIE affiliation, has written to CIE to formalise its role as the administrative head of CIE-affiliated schools in the city.

On Friday, MISA held a meeting at DG Khetan School in Malad with 20 school principals to discuss the issue. “CIE does not have an office in Mumbai and at times coordinating with the regional office in Chennai gets difficult,” said Kavita Agarwal, president of MISA and principal of D.G Khetan School. “MISA has 38 schools affiliated with it, and since we are already sharing classroom learning tips, it would be better if we get recognised by the CIE.”

MISA has already approached CIE’s school development manager (India head), Vinayak Sudhakar.
