Activists of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and members of various organisations, including women, staged a demonstration in Kolhapur on Thursday during Chief Minister Ashok Chavan’s visit.
They met the minister and demanded welfare of farmers and farm labourers and wages for domestic helps. Chavan assured that their demands would be looked into and said that the state will provide funds for civic amenities.
