AAP has alleged that public works minister Chhagan Bhujbal’s nephew Sameer Bhujbal and son Pankaj Bhujbal are linked to this scam through a construction firm Bhavesh Builders Private Limited.

In 2002, Mhada allotted land to Tulsi Co-operative Housing Society with 11 registered members for constructing a residential complex. Tulsi, promoted by one Prasanth Sawant, entered into an agreement in 2003 with Bhavesh Builders Private Limited to construct and develop this plot.

However, when the building was constructed, it was a commercial complex called Platinum Court. The property has been sold out to new buyers with none of the earlier registered members figuring as the new occupants.

Till 2009, as per records of the ministry of corporate affairs, NCP MP Sameer Bhujbal and NCP MLA Pankaj Bhujbal public works minister Chhagan Bhujbal were directors of Bhavesh.

Mhada authorities refused to answer questions raised by AAP.

When contacted, Sameer Bhujbal said: “I no longer have any ties with Bhavesh Builders and I had no stake or interest in that co-operative housing society. When I was with the firm, we were contracted by the housing society to construct a building.’’ He said he and his cousin opted out of the project and the firm. “This is some old case that is being dug out to malign us. We quit the firm long ago and have no idea what is the current status of the project."
